To make your monkey you will need:
Worsted weight yarn in tan, off-white, white, blue, and red
Size I/9 – 5.5 mm crochet hook
16 mm plastic eyes with safety backings
Black embroidery floss and embroidery needle
One button (size doesn’t really matter because we just sew it on top of the strap
Sewing thread and needle
Tapestry needle
Fiberfill or stuffing of your choice
When I crocheted him he turned out to be approx. 15 inches/38 cm tall

hdc = half double crochet (UK: half-treble crochet)

R4: *Sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 6 times. (24 sts)
R5-7: Sc 24.
Sl st 1, bind off leaving long tail for sewing, embroider nostrils and smile and set aside.
Eye Roundies (Make 2.)
Using off-white,
R1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook.
R2: 2 sc in every sc around. (12 sts)
Head
Using tan,
R1: Ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook.
R2: 2 sc in every sc around. (10 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 5 times. (15 sts)

Stuff as much as you can.
R35: *Sc 4, dec 1*, rep 5 times. (25 sts)

Finish stuffing.
R38: *Sc 1, dec 1*, rep 5 times. (10 sts)
R39: Dec 5 times. (5 sts).
Bind off and weave in loose end.
Ears (Make 2.)
Using tan,
R1: Ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook.
R2: 2 sc in every sc around. (10 sts)

Body

R4: *Sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 5 times. (20 sts)

R6: *Sc 4, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 5 times. (30 sts)
R7: *Sc 5, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 5 times. (35 sts)

Change to blue and start alternating 2 rows with blue and 2 with white until the end.
R17-32: Sc 40.
Sl st 1, bind off leaving long tail for sewing, stuff and sew to head

Arms (Make 2.)
Using tan,
R1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook.
R2: 2 sc in every sc around. (12 sts)
R3-11: Sc 12.
Change to blue and start alternating 2 rows with blue and 2 with white.
R12-27: Sc 12.
Bind off leaving long tail for sewing, stuff lightly, sew open end tog and sew to body.
Legs (Make 2.)
Using tan,
R1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook.
R2: 2 sc in every sc around. (12 sts)
R3-20: Sc 12.
Bind off leaving long tail for sewing, stuff and sew to body.

Pants
Using red loosely ch 43 and join with sl st to form a ring.
R1-7: Sc 42.
Now we will leave the space for the tail (you can see it in the second picture)
R8: Ch 3, sk 3 sts, sc 39.
R9: Sc 3 in 3-ch space, sc 39. (42 sts)
R10-15: Sc 42.
Sl st 1, bind off and weave in loose end.
Put pants on your monkey, and sew it right in the middle of the legs, making sure the space for the tail is
right in the middle of the back. Now you know where you’d have to sew the tail, so let’s make it! 
Tail
Using tan,
R1: Ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook.
R2-27: Sc 5.
Bind off leaving long tail for sewing and sew to your monkey’s butt.
Strap
Using red loosely ch 36.
R1: Hdc 34 starting in third ch from hook, bind off and weave in loose end.
Sew to pants: in the front with a button on top of the strap’s end, and in the back with a couple of
stitches.
Sailor Hat
Using white,
R1: Ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook.
R2: 2 sc in every sc around. (10 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 5 times. (15 sts)
R4: *Sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 5 times. (20 sts)
R5: *Sc 3, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 5 times. (25 sts)
R6: *Sc 4, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 5 times. (30 sts)
R7: *Sc 5, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 5 times. (35 sts)
R8-13: Sc 35.
R14: Sc 35, turn.
R15: Through back loops only:

Continue crocheting in the round:
